Hey, ladies! I'm new to the Miscarriage & Stillbirth community--unfortunately. I had a D&C on Sept. 6th due to a missed miscarriage. My husband and I would like to try again soon. We have no children and waited a long time to get married. How soon is too soon to get pregnant after a D&C? My doc said to wait at least one menstrual cycle, but other sources have said otherwise. Doesn't make it easy that I'm a Family Nurse Practitioner, and every medical professional I know is trying to give me advise! Would love to hear from people who have "been there".
Also, my period came 33 days after the D&C and it was light spotting X 2 days, and one day of very very light bleeding (one panty liner). Does this count as my first period? Then, I had brief spotting 3 days after it stopped.
Any thoughts?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Of course, before you try again you want to make sure you are not only physically ready but also emotionally prepared. Right after my mc I wanted nothing more than to get pregnant again. Even though I feel it's been way too long for us I'm not sure if I would have been quite ready right away. Only you can answer that question for yourself.
If you ever need anyone to chat with I'm here for you.
Best of luck with whatever you decide!
I know it is hard to wait. I waited 7 years to get married & worried the whole time about getting pregnant, not knowing that is would never have happened. Wasted all those birth control pills too!! (The pills are the only reason I had a regular period!) I hope that all goes well for you! Good luck!!
