At our 2 week follow-up after our miscarriage and d&c, our dr. told us things looked good and it was ok for us to resume sex. The following week, (3 weeks after my d&c), I had ovarian pain that reminded me of my first pregnancy and so I bought a digital pregnancy test. It came back positive. My dr. said this is normal to still have residual hormones left over from my past pregnancy, but I'm wondering if there are people that have gotten pregnant that soon after a d&c. I'm not necessarily hoping for that, as I know that may not be healthy for my body.

I guess it is possible for pregnancy tests and ovulation tests to come back positive a few weeks after a d&c, even though your body is still changing and this may not be happening. I went for a blood test today and am going to monitor my hcg level and possibly go in for an ultrasound to check on my ovaries and uterus.

I don't know if it means you are pregnant or not. But I can say that after my d&c, it took a few weeks for my levels to go down...about 3 weeks. So maybe there are some residual hormones there. Good luck with everything. I hope this was helpful.

A friend of mine recently got pregnant 8 days after a D&C and went on to have a healthy baby girl.

Hi, two things. I mc 3 times. Last time in August. I did follow with pregnancy tests and they were positive for few weeks. At some point I did ovulation test (strip) and it was also positive. So I start digging and find out that ovulation test will show positive when hcg is present in urine. Second thing, my cousin had d/c and after were still bleeding and throwing out. They gave her lots of pills and left her in hospital for observation after two weeks of that. Then they repeated usg and it turns that she was still pregnant with twins. Now twins are 7 yrs happy and healthy!

Theoretically it could happen. A woman can ovulate at nearly any point thru out her cycle. I do know that a woman can be pregnant with twins - with different fathers. I can't see why this cant happen too. I guess that if you continue to test positive the only other thing you can do to verify it is an ultra sound Good Luck, I hope it goes the way you want it to.

I had a D&C in August followed by a heavy period. Eight weeks later I still had not started by cycle. My doctor told me that your cycle will generally start 2 weeks later than normal after a D&C. Since my cycles are usually 6 weeks long, I decided to take a pregnancy test. It was positive. Since I had just had a miscarriage, I ignored this pregnancy assuming it was too soon after my miscarriage. I then started my period one week later. The positive pregnancy test could have been residual from my earlier pregnancy, but I think it was another pregnancy since it was 8 weeks later. Best of luck to you. We are trying again too.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
