how long after your miscarriage do you usually get rid of all the hormones? its 3 weeks since i had a D&C for my mc...and i did a pregnancy test and it still shows positive. so i must have raised levels of pregnancy hormones still.

i havent been asked back for any follow up appointments and my doctor hasnt taken any blood or tested for any hormones in me like some people have mentioned. maybe its an england thing!!!

so...anyone know how long til i shud get a negative test?

Im sorry hun, Im not sure. i would call your doc and let him know that you still have the hcg in you system see what he says

I would say call your doc. If your levels are still up there may be residual placenta left in the uterus. The doc should always do a f/u exam after D&C to make sure it was complete. My OB told me that within 72 hours your HCG level should be virtually non-existant. Good luck.

I would go to the doctor.I had to go back four times before it was normal.If it is to high everything is not out yet and can cause an infection.Good Luck and sorry for your loss.

thanks for the advice, i think things work diff in uk to us where i see a lot of ppl on this board comes from. the doc said there was no need to see her again unless there was excessive bleeding/pain, she never said anything bout testing for hormones. i did another test last night and was negative, i might have left the last one a little too long (bit scared of what id see) so i guess it was me worrying over nothing. thanks tho

IT JUST ALL DEPENDS. I BELIEVE IT TOOK ME THREE TO FOUR WEEKS BEFORE MINE WAS BACK TO NORMAL. BUT I HAD TO SEE THE DOCTOR ONCE A WEEK TIL IT WAS NORMAL. I WOULD CALL UR DOCTOR AND ASK THEM!

i didn't have to have a D&C, but my dr had me come back 4 weeks after my miscarriage was over. he did a blood test and the hcg level was at 0. I would call your dr and ask him to do a test just to see what you hormone level is.

It took exactly 5 weeks after my d&c for my hcg levels to go back down to 5. My doctor told me that I should expect my af two weeks after that.

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
