I found out last week that my baby had no heartbeat at 12 1/2 wks pg. I had surgery 2 days later, mainly so they could run testing (it is my 2nd mc) so it's been 1 wk post surgery. I'm feeling worse now then I did right after! Still bldg, now lactating! (no one warned me about this and it really threw me for a loop) and just very emotional....
Just when i'm thinking I should get back to work I feel like I just can't function, I am not sleeping at All. So those of you who work, how long did you stay home? I feel like people will think i'm "milking" the situation even though I know no one can tell you when to heal. Physically I suppose I am clear medically to work but I was just wondering what other people have done. I am a nurse manager so I feel a sense of responsibility to get back....Thanks

I am so about your loss. I MC at 10 weeks and actually worked during the week I waited for my D&C and then went right back to work. I would have gone crazy sitting home with nothing to think about but losing my baby. I really urge you to go back. Even if you don't accomplish much while there at least it will distract your mind even for a little while. Thoughts and prayers with you during this sad time.

I agree with Jen I work up to the day of D&C I took one day off (day after) and returned to work. I needed to stay busy if not they would have had to commit me. My co-work took two weeks. You need to think of what's best for you. Hang in there

I am so sorry for your loss. I went back a week and a half later. I was an emotional wreck and not sleeping. I needed the time off. I knew going back to work was going to be hard too. I knew it would take me a few days of working to get back into the swing of things.

With my first loss, second trimester, I took a few weeks off. I was so lost, I couldn't get out of bed. I started going for half days, second half of the day. Once I got back to full time, i felt so much better. I found I really needed consistency in my life and I found that with work. After my second loss, I worked the day I had my D&C, it was scheduled at 5pm. I took the next day off. And then went back to work. Ended up feeling pretty crappy physically and ended up taking another two days off. Again, having the consistent schedule helped me emotionally. It gave me something else to focus on... when I could! I am sorry for your loss. Everyone is different with their grieving and whatever you decide will be right for you! My thoughts are with you!

So sorry about your loss. I MC at 8 weeks in July and I'm a teacher so I had the summer off. It worked out to have time off to deal with what happened, but at times I was also was getting upset being alone all day for two months. So take the time you need at home. My thoughts are with you right now!

A friend sent this to me..As far as I can see, grief will never truly end.It may become softer overtime, more gentleand some days will feel sharp. But grief will last as long as Love does - ForeverIt's simply the way the absence of your loved onemanifests in your heart. A deep longing accompaniedby the deepest Love some days. The heavy fog mayreturn and the next day, it may recede.Once again, it's...

Today is my 25th birthday, to my somewhat lack of surprise I can see already no one really seems to care. I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
