My best friend had a miscarriage a couple of weeks after me. We both had natural miscarriages. I had an infection in my uterus so they gave me some pills to make everything come out. Well it did I was bleeding for awhile but it eventually went away & I got my first period. She had her miscarriage & when she went for her follow up they saw she still had fluid in her uterus so they gave her the same pills I had taken. The only thing was that nothing happened when she took them. The first day I took them it started working. So she went back to the doctor & they did another ultrasound & the fluid was still there. They told her to wait & to start taking her birth control pills tomorrow & wait until she finishes the pack. Then she should have her period & they'll see if the fluid is still there. Me & her were talking & it just doesn't seem right to leave the fluid in her uterus for the next 3 wks. And what if it doesn't come out then? I told her I would ask around to see if anyone has heard of this. I thought maybe they would do a D&C or something to get the fluid out. That way her body can start to heal again. Would leaving the fluid in there damage anything & affect her chances of getting pregnant in the future? I told her to maybe get a second opinion.
