It has been nearly 4 weeks since my D&C, and I still get a strong positive when I take a pregnancy test. I'm also still lightly bleeding.
Obviously, there's no way I can actually be pregnant - but my body doesn't seem to have accepted this yet. I wasn't really that far along either (not sure for certain, around 10-12 weeks probably).
Does anyone have any idea of how long this stage can take? I am trying to deal with the loss, and just want this to end so I can start feeling a little more normal again.
My doctor wants me to come in periodically, but it doesn't seem that there is much she can actually do anything about it - and I hate these pointless, bad news visits.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I was just reading about hcg levels today. It can take 4-6 weeks to fall back to less than 5 mIu, considered negative, after a loss. It takes 25 mIu to register positive. (Don't ask me what the mIu stands for!) If you still get a positive after six weeks you should follow up with your doctor. Take care!
