this quote made me cry. i feel like these days there is way too much waning patriotism and cynicism about America. it has become a popular trend to hate this country, to say screw the troops, to just...not care. i also read that sack lunches story. it warms my heart to know that there are people who still get it. i got it. my love for the vets is an integral reason why i joined the army. the soldiers who came before me gave everything, even the last full measure of devotion. this is, in part, me saying thank you. i pray that we'll all find ways to thank the veterans who have fought and died for our freedom, even if it's just by saying thank you. trust me, it really means A LOT to a service member to be thanked for their service. God bless our troops.
