Lest We Forget
On the 7th of December
I stop and remember
That morning so long ago
When the skies came alive
With death and destruction
And so many sweet lives were lost
And an evil wind blew
As the list of dead grew
Our nation was under the gun
We fought with God's grace
For the whole human race
We fought until the evil was done
On the 11th of September
I stop and remember
A morning a few years ago
When the skies came alive
With death and destruction
And so many sweet lives were lost
With an evil wind blowing
And the list of dead growing
We knew we had to even the score
But how many more lives must be lost
In the name of this unholy war?
I don't know the answer
There may not even be one
But you've got to keep killing
When your nation comes under the gun
It is so much easier to say that
When the one who is dying
Is not your brother or son
On the 4th of July
I stop and I cry
When I think what it takes
To be free
I grieve for every life taken
For the love of this nation
And for every one left waiting at home
And I thank every one
Each father, sister, and son
Who gives this great blessing
To me

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
We must remember the past in order to build a better future.
