hello, im new to this support group. i wanted to find a "military community" to talk to. my husband recently separated from the air force after 12 years. since a few months after we got married, it is all we have ever known and all our children have ever known. im finding it difficult to adjust to civilian life. it is a lot harder than i thought, though not as hard as deployments. it seems that when you move to a new base/post that you have "immediate friends". there are built in support systems waiting for you when you get there. everyone knows what you are going through and offers any assistance needed to a perfect stranger. in the new neighborhood we just moved to, only 2 people have introduced themselves to me and its a little odd to have neighbors outside of the "20-40 year group". haha. anyway, i just wanted to find a chat room with people and topics i have a common ground with. thanks for listening.

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
