Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

Hi all~
I've had on & off headaches, for as long as I can remember. A lot of what I would describe as sinus or tension headaches. Mostly because someone once said to me "oh you would know if it was a migraine--because you can't move--& need to go to bed"--well with 2 little kids, thats not always a choice.
About a year & a half ago, I had a bad bout of vertigo--went through a number of tests, with no answer for it. Since then, I've been correlating the episodes to headaches more & more. My headaches are much worse these days (when I have them) and they certainly seem to be hormone & weather related.
I'm wondering if its possible to have symptoms of a migraine, without the severe pain. For example today, the pain hasn't been so bad--just feel like pushing on the back of my head--but my eyes hurt from behind & feel a little "wobbly" or dizzy. Its what I call my "bobble head" feeling.
Other times, I get the severe pain (had it this weekend) and feel sick to my stomach, sensitive to noises, smells, etc. More of the classic MIgraine symptoms.
I hope this makes sense--I mostly am just curious what others experience with their migraines.
Thanks
Lisa

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Any time you experience persisting bouts of head pain, or head pain along with neurological deficits - you need to get it checked out. It sounds like migraine, but I'm just a voice on an internet forum - what do I know? :)
There are people who get migraines they can muddle through pain-wise. So even if you have a migraine WITH pain, it is possible for it to be of a moderate intensity, etc. Like you said - sometimes you need to get things done and go to work when it is within your reach. Not everyone can, not everyone can't either.
There is a whole category of migraines, "acephalgic migraines," devoted to experiencing aura without any pain at all.
There is also Migraine-Associated Vertigo, where there is vertigo prior to, during, or in between migraines.
Take care,
Laura
