I will be honest and say: I am on 300mg of Topamax, (along with a muscle relaxer, an anti-depressant, and an anti anxiety medicine, plus 4 other prescription meds). And, I drink alcohol once a week!
The first drink I am fine, the second drink I am tipsy, the third drink legally drunk. A few weeks ago I had 4 drinks (over a four hour period, plus I ate food). I was really drunk after 4 drinks, so I went to bed and ended up sleeping for 16 hours. I only woke up once to go to the bathroom.

So, my point is I take my chances every week and I take 8 prescription drugs.
And, before everyone lectures me, I usually only drink 2 vodka cocktails once a week. I'm not ever going to drink 4 cocktails again!

Did she ask her Dr? Alcohol is a migraine trigger in general. I had to give up alcohol entirely even though I wish I could have a few drinks now and then its just not worth it to me in the long run - because I end up having to take my abortive meds and mixing them with alcohol is really dangerous even though I used to do it because it would relieve the migraine and I could keep drinking and think it was ok but I was in denial and I got very sick. However, she probably won't listen to you or us anyway if she won't even ask her Dr. and your worrying will only make you sick.

I can drink some alcohol and not others. Beer is a no-no. Migraine the next morning. One glass of red wine ok. Not a whole bottle. Clear alcohol seems to work best but in moderation. And as long as she is not driving. And eat. She should test it before she goes, so she noes how she will react. With me, the more I drink, the more I react to it over time

I was on Topamax for almost a year (75mg) and the only alcohol I drink is beer. I can honestly say I didn't have any issues.... I didn't go crazy when I drank of course, but I never had any problems while I was on Topamax.

I have been on Topamax for 3 years and i drank alcohol with no side effects from topamax. The alcohol would trigger a migraine so had to give it up no worries.

I've been on topamax for for 8 months and have made so many lifestyle changes to get rid of these migraines. One of them was giving up caffeine and alcohol. I haven't had either for about a month and drank 2 glasses of white wine on Friday night and woke up Saturday morning with a migraine. I hadn't had a migraine in a month mind you. It sucks having to give it up, but at least I'm 27 now and had a ton of fun when I was younger.... Still, is not fun knowing I will have to go to social events and always be the sober one so I don't wake up the next day with a migraine. Catch 22 I suppose.

It would not be a lot of fun to go to Vegas and end up with a migraine triggered by alcohol just for the sake of a few drinks.

I use to take Lamictal and to be honest i got so drunk with this med never actually had any bad side effect. Also I took it for Bipolar not Migranes.

But know i take Lithium Prozact And an anxiety pill
and i know i cant drink not one single shot with Lithium unless
i want to end up dead or in a coma.

A huge life style change u shoudnt drink any med but there is exeptions and to be honest i think she can drink with topamax talk to her doc i gave up caffeine and alcohol im dyng inside!!!!!!!!
