Anyone use Migranal? My Neurologist just prescribed it to me. I haven't had it filled yet, plan on doing that tomorrow. I'm hoping it works better than the imitrex. I've never squirted anything up my nose before!

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. You should not use if you have risk of heart attack or stroke. If you have been diagnosed with basilar artery migraine or hemiplegic migraine, you also cannot use Migranal Nasal Spray.
For some people, it works fantastically.
You do need to be aware that it is a Class X medication, which means you cannot take it if you even think you are pregnant, and definitely not while you are breastfeeding.
I do know that when they give DHE by subQ or IV, they recommend taking an anti-emetic such as Reglan or Phenergan at the same time, because this medication can cause nausea. I don't believe the nasal spray has as high an incidence of this nausea, but you would want to be aware of this as a possibility.
Take care,
