Hii allMy colleague has had a migraine, and it gets worse two to three days before, and they are often quite debilitating. She usually takes small remedies to get rid of it quickly. I typed out a paragraph about todays migraine. When i read it to check for errrors it made no sense.. apparently i can no longer be a functioning human when i have a migraine.. I am reduced to a nauseated mess that cant even communicate!
Everyone reacts different to different medications. It is the same with managing diabetes. Some folks respond best to pig insulin, some folks respond to human insulin, some to cow. Some need a mix.
For some folks it takes a couple of the preventative medications in combination.
Also, it can take up to three months to truly know if you are getting any kind of benefit from preventative medication. Obviously, if the side effects are too much - you need to get off of it, but a surprisingly number of doctors and patients give up on meds after too short a time.
I would recommend definitely starting the migraine trigger diet. Keep in mind that it can take up to 36 hours for a trigger food to produce a migraine.
Start trying to sleep the same amount every night, because that can be a migraine trigger.
Drink your 8 glasses of water a day, because dehydration is a trigger.
Ask your doctor about adding a magnesium and B2 supplement to your diet.
Start taking note of the weather during a migraine.
That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure there will be plenty more from others, especially the herbalists of the group. :)
