Hello, I joined this group today and wanted to tell everyone a little bit about myself. I am 26 and have had headaches my entire life. But the last few years they have increased in frequency and ferocity. Tecnically my headaches are not migraines but chronic tension headaches meaning I pretty much have a headache all the time. Sometimes I can function fine and other times the pain is so severe I can do nothing but lay on the couch with a hot water bottle or cold pack at the base of my skull. These severe headaches typically last for three to five days. Some of the reading I've done on the condition indicate that there is likely a link between the cause of migraines and chronic tension headaches, our bodies just respond differently with some people getting a migraine headache and others a tension. But the one thing I do know, is what it is like to be in pain and I want nothing more than to beat this monster and take back my life.
