Hi All.
I am on 200mg of zonegran a day for my migraines. I have been for maybe 8 weeks now. My migraines have pretty much gone away but I get these sometimes severe headaches in the back of my head that can be annoying. They are not migraines - I don't have any of the other side effects but they are pretty annoying. Sometimes I wake up with them, other times they appear out of no where. Other times they are not so severe but they are def make their presense known. I would rather take them anyday over my migraines though. Anyway, I went for a follow up visit to my neruo and told him about my headaches - so now he wants to schedule an mri bc he doenst like the fact im getting diff headaches. One thing I didnt mention to him bc i didnt think it had to do with my head or anything, is the fact that I have been feeling very short of breathe lately. I feel some pressure in my chest. Sometimes i feel like im somewhat gasping for air for a split second or my heart is abnormally beating for a second- if that makes any sense. Now i suffer from anxiety attacks and it *somewhat* feels like anxiety but im not having an attack-just chronic anxiety?? My blood pressure was 180/80 when i went to the dr and it is normally on the opposite epectrum- normally its too low. (im a 28yo f who is not overweight) But the dr didnt seem concered. They just attributed it to the "white coat syndrome". I have not found anything about zonegran causing high blood pressure. I just thought something else was going on with me bc this just started a few weeks ago and didnt think to attribute this to the zonegran but now I am starting to wonder. Does anyone have any long term experience with this med?

I certainly wouldn't take the zonegran until I ruled out heart problems...can you have that mri sooner than later??

Be careful, my friend had to stop taking zonegran starting having seizures! Dr. wont admit it is zonegran. They say it is anxeity induced, here a month later she still has small seizures every day. It started like you are saying her migraines were totally gone then a month later all this happened. Be careful with what you are taking, and how much! Pay attention to you body and keep in touch with your Dr.
