Meth Addiction & Recovery Support Group
Methamphetamine is a synthetic stimulant drug used for both medicinal and recreational purposes. Methamphetamine is highly psychologically addictive. Like most stimulants, large doses of methamphetamine can result in a strong feeling of euphoria at the expense of physical fatigue and a strong "come-down" as the drug's effect wears off.

So basically I started doing meth when i was 18 and i am 22 now. I think about it every day! I had a fairy tell high school life. I was voted homecoming queen, most popular, I was a very good athlete. I even sighned a volleyball scholarship Febuary of my Senior year. My life was perfect until two months after i graduated, i was introduced to crank.
Crank is different than ice. Its main ingredients is anhydrice. (I dont think i spelled that correctly)We would not even buy ice. Eventually it was to hard to get anhydrice so we started using ice. After only using for two months, my best friend at the time gave me my first bump. I continued to use for three years, but only shot up about ten times. After my first two semester in school i dropped out. I had a really rough couple of years, but after i turned 21 i really straightened up.
I hear 75% of people that shoot up never recover. Well i want to be one of the 15% who do. I am on my 5th semester in college and am a member of the volleyball and basketball team. I am also a reporter for the newspaper. Meth really took a tole on my body. I wander if i will ever be the same Vannessa again. But i realize i can not let meth handicap me anylonger. I want to be a miracle story because i dont think many people could go back to being a double college athlete after shooting methamphetamines into their veins four years prior.
So i need support from people who have stories like mine. Sometimes i can even taste the smoke out of a glass bowl, or the burn going up your nose, or that crazy rush when you bang it.
I have relapsed twice in the past 14 months. I just had a birthday and want to do things right.

I never shot up, but I was a heavy user and I did it every other way. I tried it when 1st when I was 13 and did it for a while. Then I had my big bout of addiction from 17-19 years old. I am almost 21 now and I have been clean for 1.5 years. When I 1st came to college, I had a full academic scholarship. I lost the scholarship due to heavy drug usage and binging and crashing. Since I've been clean I managed to appeal for my scholarship and get it back. I have made the dean's list for the last 4 semesters and I very seldom crave meth. When I do crave it i just remember how badly it affected my life. No, i'm no the same person I was before but at least I'm wiser now. Good luck! You can do it and live an awesome life!

First I snorted than smoked the bubble and then I shot up for two straight years, at least 16 times a day. I went through alot of dope and it really messed me up. I quit for 18 months then fell and had a relapse, straight to the needle I went, on Oct 14 or 13 of this year I almost died from an OD. I still proceeded to drink until Dec 7 of 07 and I have 24 days clean. I will be one of the 75% to recover from the evil needle.

I never slammed, I did it pretty much every other way and my husband was a slammer. He is in priosn now and has veen clean for 2.5 yrs, we have both been clean for that long. I have of course relapsed but that is part of recovery. My husband, if he wanted it, could get in prison. Drugs in priosn are easy to get, just like on the streets, especially in AZ which has an extremely bad meth problem in this state. You willcrave for wahile and it will be hard to resist the temptation, but kmnowing you can survive and deal with life without it is a great feeling. Hold onto that. I know my husband will be one of the few who escape the grip of shooting meth. This drug is the devil!!! And yet sometimes I just want to bury my nose in a bag. Hang in there!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
