Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

Had to go see my Doc today about other things, and mentioned to her about Menopause.. the fact that I was still having hot flashes, and night sweats ( have just started those) and generally feeling crap....
Even after 4 yrs of no period, apparently I am still going through Menopause.
I had tests done about 1 yr ago to see what my hormone levels were, and that particular Doc told me I was well into Meno, and that the levels were almost non existant?... this Doc tells me that although levels are low, and I am no longer menstruating, my brain is still telling me that I should be having a period once a month..well thanks brain!!!
She said this could go on for sometime.. My mother took 10yrs to 'get over it' so I have go another 6 to go??
She also talked about HRT... saying that it worked wonders, but when it was time for women to come off the meds, they found it very hard, and it has been recorded that some, even go a little strange, some go completely off the wall... so NO I WILL NOT GO THAT WAY.. I will go back to my Homeopathic remedy thanks.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Some women do have good luck with herbal supplements and increasing their soy intake. even one glass of soy milk per day has decreased hot flashes for some.
