I am 41 and have been experiencing "classic" perimenapause symptoms for about 3 1/2 years. No doctor will listen to me (I have tried 4) and just say I am too young, even though I tell them my mother started at 37. I have hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, varying of periods from heavy to light and also the in the time of the month, sometimes not at all. I have clotting every couple of months, hair thinning, cramping(when I never had cramps before), horrible PMS, "brain fog" and sometimes just a huge feeling of helplessness! I just can't seem to convince doctors that I am young BUT this IS happening and I need help. One doctor gave me prozac and well that ought to do it! For heavens sake it's not all in my head! Somebody please give me some advice on what to try next!!
