Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

i am 39 yrs old-i think i may be getting hot flashes but i am not completely sure of it so if anyone can tell me what they experience I would appreciate it.
Here is what happens-
i usually start to feel sick to my stomach, like an uneasy feeling, then i get cold, then out of no where i feel like my body is on fire-like i have a sudden fever spike, i try to remain calm during this but its scary. I then think i am going to pass out from the heat and i just lye there and try to be still. it passes in about 5-10 minutes but I am drained after wards.
Does this sound like a hot flash to you?
please help

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
i have never felt faint or nauseated, that sounds a little like an anxiety attack, of which i'm very prone to also. all of this will end for us someday when our hormones get back in order!
Considering its cold out at night where I am I should just wear less clothing to bed and leave the heat alone eh? Yup.
Unfortunately, until I discover the Fountain of Youth (yea right!) looks like I might have a choice in the matter....*sighs*
It is better to find out for sure, only your doctor can find out what is going on with you. If it is anxiety attacks, then anti-depressants are in order, if it's hot flashes, then you will need to decide if they are bad enough to go on something... but unforunately sticking your head in the sand, well it does nothing to stop it.
