Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

They do list depression and mood swings as part of menopause. I think its due to the fluctuating homones. Take care and lots of hugggsss

I have bipolar disorder and am going through menopause. The hormones will definately make things crazier than normal for me. I've been discussing with my therapist that I've been experiencing quite a bit of delusional paranoia when ever I'm pms'ing. She wants me to have blood work and see whats up with my hormone count. I take respiradol, and she feels it may help me to increase my dosage, but wants me to wait and see my hormone levels first. Being able to finally identify what was happening to me was half the battle. Once I was able to put my finger on it and keep track of my cycle closer, I am able to not react to it like I was. I hope you get some answers.
