Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

I haven't had any blood loss for about 5yrs (I had the lining of my womb taken away in 2001. 'abalation'). Now after all this time and thinking I am in 'perimenopause' I have started to bleed again.... once about three weeks ago and now yesterday and today still.
Anyone else have this happen?? I have mentioned this to my GP and she is sending me for tests.

Hi, I'm new here but I've had this problem too. I didn't have a period for 3 yrs. and started spotting everyday. My dr. said my body wasn't ready to stop totally yet. He found that my lining of my uterus was real thick so he put me on hormones to make me start having a period again. I take them 12 days a month. I feel better and am slowly having lighter flow. The dr. said that when my body was ready to stop that even the hormone wouldn't make me start again. I take Provera.

Update on this I go for a 'ultrasound' scan next week on my womb & ovaries so hopefully will show if anything is amiss.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
