I had Ewings Sarcoma, a very aggressive bone cancer. I was on Medicaid during treatment when I was a minor. Now, I'm off treatment and I don't "look disabled" and I'm still very sick and I'm 20 and I am having problems getting on SSI which I have to be on to get Medicaid. They give it right away to anyone who has a noticeable limp or something, but those of us who look healthy don't get it and have to keep appealing. I need Medicaid. I have no money coming in and am living off of Food Stamps. I can't afford doctor's appointments, but it's life threatening to not go. I have a large stack of bills I can't pay. Just going to my oncology clinic (where sick people are isolated) I get very sick. Usually bronchitis or a digestive infection. Any time I leave the house, I catch something. My stamina's almost nothing in spite of many efforts to get my stamina back. My muscles are extremely weak in spite exercises I've tried. My arms even get tired after a couple seconds of combing my hair! I can't comb my hair without taking about five breaks that last at least ten minutes. How do they expect me to get a job?
