High, it's me again; the girl that had the terrible ex flash back. Do you remember or has your short term memory loss got the best of you again?
I am now stuck in this routine that I need to break in order for some sobriety. Any suggestions? I get off work at 8pm, what does everyone else usually do? I don't want to go to the gym because it's to late. And the minute I walk in my front door...umm well, let's just say that sitting on my couch watching tv isn't really what I had in mind either.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I had a really big problem after I got off work as well before I quit. I would even smoke on the way home from work. Life seemed fine and normal while I was in work mode but as soon as I had to do things for me, getting high was the only thing on my mind. Suggestions for getting it off your mind when you walk in the door... Don't feel like you have to make the world go round just to be sober and get smoking off your mind. What do you enjoy doing besides this addiction? I personally love to paint and write or read. So when I get home I try and do one of those. Of course not everyone or every minute is going to be filled with inspiration to do these fun hobbies, so... doing something simple would work as well.
Try making a list of things that you would like to try and accomplish; -working on that list when you get off work. Or you can also volunteer some of your time -really anywhere-. I volunteer at a second hand store for the american cancer society every sunday. I can't tell you how much it has helped me stay focused and also feel really good about myself even if it's something small. Good luck with recovery, you can do it.
I do however think life can and is more then just in the middle of happy and sad. Rarely in the middle, their either extremely sad or happy.
