Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. It is now one of the fastest growing infectious diseases in the U.S. Lyme disease is caused by infection with the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, and is primarily transmitted to humans as well as dogs, horses and other domesticated animals by the bite of infected ticks.

I have had this symptom for nearly two years and not one Doctor even beleives me. It would be so helpful if someone had some insite. I think it is called a "bounding pulse". I can feel my heart pumping all over my body. I hear it, my eyelids bounce, my carotid moves, my tummy throbs, all the way to my fingertips. I can see my pulse in my hands, elbows, finger, carotid, and tummy. The problem is I am so exausted always and it is related to this heart thing. And then, about a year and a half ago I just quit sleeping. Since then I have only fallen asleep maybe a half of a dozen times without sleeping pills. Are my adrenal glands shot? Has anyone experienced this? Has anyone read about Prions? Most important has anyone gotten over this?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
My doctor checks my adrenals by watching the way my pupils respond to light. (mine are shot) This is the only docotr who has ever checked this.
What are you taking? What support supplements and minerals are you taking? Lyme can deplete minerals and vitamins and start to throw the whole balance out of whack. Have you been checked for co-infections?
Have you seen any improvements since starting treatment?
Right now I am on Amoxycilin. I take it for three wks, then Flagyl for a wk, then Biaxin for 3 wks, than back to Flagyl for a wk and back to Amoxy. I have been on antibiotics for too long and I can not really say I feel much better. It has been nearly two years.
I have tested negative for all western blots through igenex but I am always postive for many Lyme specific bands. I test very positive for Bowman Institute's serial dilution which tested me negative for all co-infections.
You are probably right about the vitamins and minerals. I will start them up again. I just get so frustrated I end up quitting so many supplements. This site DS is going to be great for me It will really help me to stay focused.
How long were you sick before getting diagnosed? Have you ever been tested for the co-infections through IgeneX?
Do you ever have heart palpitations, shortness of breath, and/or night sweats?
I think it would be good for you to have your adrenals checked. I don't know a lot about this yet, but at the Lyme conference I went to a few different doctors discussed that some people who have Lyme also have adrenal problems.
