Lyme and MS

I am trying to out if anyone has Lyme and MS together? the Dr say my friends has both and needto take care of the Lyme before doing anything about MS.. She has been treat for Lyme going on 4 yrs. She is on the Marshal Protcall. Thanks Di

Hello, I do not have personal experience with MS, but there are plent of articles that link lyme and MS:

My understanding is that lyme can mimic MS, or, possibly trigger it in a person that might have been predisposed to getting MS. There seem to be plenty of people misdiagnosed with MS who actually have lyme and improve on antibiotics.

I have only heard a little about the Marshall protocol. It sounds very difficult to follow, and was more popular in past years. However, some say they were helped by it....I guess everyone is different!

If you Google Marshall Protocol you will find references to scam. I have no experience with it but from the little bit of reading I've done in the last 15 minutes it sounds like an experimental protocol based on one person's theory about chronic inflammatory type illnesses. Your friend has been on this treatment for 4 years. You tell us. How is she doing? It sounds to me like the doctor expects her MS symptoms to resolve with her Lyme. I've heard of Lyme being misdiagnosed as MS. I believe most of us are following a standard of care for Lyme proposed by the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society. They have a website- www.ILADS.org.

    I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
