Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.

Hi, I am new to this forum, but I have really been inspired by what I have been reading. For 15 years, I have not met another diagnosed person with SLE, other than my aunt. I can't believe I haven't tried to search for forums before now.
I also had a massive PE 2 years ago and lived to tell about it. Has anyone else? I counted them up tonight. I have been diagnosed with lupus plus 9 other related illnesses (I think... tried to count, might have got them all). For these, I take 10 different types of pills a day.
How do you feel like pulling the covers over your head every day, and be a positive and uplifting parent, spouse, co-worker, etc? I feel like I have to suck it up and fake it every day. I haven't been very good faking it since I lost my job last month.
Thanks for letting me vent. I may just be tired, but y'all are great inspiration.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I am licky that with my patner I don't have to put on a happy face? However I do try to not fuss about the aches pains and other stuff that goes with lupus as I get tiered of it myself.
Sorry you lost your job hopefully you will find one soon that you like better than the last one....Deb
That is my biggest FEAR! My great grandma die of them, My grandmother just died of them in June, and my mother has had them for the last 32 years and really battled clots. I started have leg clots and after gma died in June, they tested me and I inherited it from my mom's side. Now I live in fear everyday, as if I didn't have enough to worry about
I know how it feels to want to pull the covers over your head, and sometimes I do and cry. I am on SS disability and have been since I was 36. For all of my education, I have nothing, and I feel like I have lost everything in my life. I have had 3 left knee surgeries now, and due for more in both knees, my hands and feet are fusing, and my spine is a mess.
Thanks for letting me vent, I got off of the subject a little there. I do have a wonderful 18 year old son though, not so much a husband though. oh well
