Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.

Even though you are on the Coumadin for the rest of your life, with the Lupus Anticoagulant and a Protein C defecient will you still get the blood clots? Is there still a chance of them coming back? Also, I read that the Anuersym I have is due to years of inflammatory disease. Has anyone else suffered or heard of this? Judy

I have anti-cardiolipin syndrom and have been on coumadin for 7 years. If you take your meds right and keep an eye on your INR level(the blood test they do for coumadin) then you should not have any problems with PE's. I have had them three times but once they got the dose right I have been clot free for years. I don't even really think about much any more. I just pop my pills and watch what I eat.......Deb
