Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.

Has anyone every had a positive and then a negative ANA? I have. Will it go positive again or am I Lupus free. Once my doctor said I have symptoms of Lupus, and that I would get Lupus before I die (she wanted to give me steroids and do two hip replacements) and now they say I have fibro and my lupus test is negative. I always suffer is so much pain, I am allergic to everything, I am always ill. Lots of joint and mussel pain, I forget. I get tired and exhausted easy especially when I am in the sun. So what do I have? Do I have to be afraid of my ANA turning positive again or is that unlikely? Has that happened to anyone else?

I've always been the kinda person to make sure that everyone I Care about feels appreciated and knew somebody had their back. I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...

So if it is a different doctor, take them copies of your previous labs so they have a history to go on. Then when you find a good doctor -KEEP THEM! even if they are out of network for your insurance, there are ways to get your insurance cocmpany to work with you and them. Having the same Internist to coordinate my care for the last 20 years has been invaluable in not having to go over old ground with each new doctor she has had me see(specialists ect..), so she could look at their recommedations and results in context of what she knows about me and my health history. It's hard when you have to find a new primary and start over. I avoid it at all cost if at all possible. (now if they retire you really, have to go looking, ask around,or ask Lupus Foundation, they make good recommedations).
