Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.

When I got dx'd with lupus in March my Tricare had expired when my husband we deactivated from the Army. I have outstanding bills and had to stop seeing the rheumatologist Tricare sent me to. Now, I can find no ins. coverage. I haven't seen a doctor since August. It's difficult to work fulltime and if I work at all I cannot apply for disability. Only hope is getting coverage thru my husband's new job he starts next month. I'm afraid to not see a doctor and my meds are running out. I'm afraid this is pre-excisting. I've already been turned down by one ins. company. I stayed scared all the time. Any suggestions out there. All I'm doing is paying myself thru this right now. Thanks.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
belief, you should be covered through COBRA for at least 18 months. It's expensive, but at least you are covered.
