I'm considering having another child but I was diagnosed with Lupus 4 years ago (8 years after the birth of my first child) and I am concerned about how the disease might affect the pregnancy and the health of the baby. I've read that women with Lupus have a 50% chance of having a normal pregnancy but they are at a higher risk of delivering prematurely so the pregnancy is considered "high-risk". I've also read that pregnancy can cause a flare in some women. I'd like to hear from anyone who has been pregnant after being diagnosed with Lupus. What kinds of complications did you have? Were you able to stay on any of your medications during pregnancy or while nursing? Any information you can share or advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.
