Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.

I wanted to ask a few questions of ya all. I have been going to doctors for 6 months now and still waiting to get a diagnosis. As stated by others, it can take a while to get a diagnosis. They have found severe damage to both knees and will need to have knee replacements. I have been going to a GI specialist the last two months and have been going through numerous test, CAT Scan, Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, Upper GI, Untra-Sound, and too many blood tests to count. The last few months, my liver enzymes have been climbing, my ALT started elevating for about four months and now the AST is also elevated. My Sed-rate and C-reactive Protein has been elevated since 1994 (Sed-rate is at 100 and C-reactive Protein is 22.46)and WBC is also elevated. I'm beginning to get scared about the blood test results because I fear where they are taking me. Can anyone tell me if this is what they are experiencing and if it is just part of the whole immune disease causing this? I'm really getting scared and finally stated this to my doctors. I have had joint pain since I was a young teen and this change in my blood work has only been going on for the last few years. I would appreciate any information you all can give.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
