Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.

Hi everyone! I have been feeling pretty good for the past week. I thought my "flare up" was finally at an end. Last night in bed, I made a mental list of things that I wanted to get done today. This morning I woke up, put my little one on the bus, came in, had a cup of coffee, and all of a sudden I felt drugged. I actually could feel as though all the blood was draining from my body. I was extemely tired. I layed down, and as I began to fall asleep, i thought,"ok, when I wake up, I will take care of everything on my list". Well, I woke up 5 hours later!! I only had enough time to take a shower, before getting my little one OFF the bus! what a wasted day! has this happened to anyone? that u felt drugged, and kind of like "DUH"???
please answer, and let me know if this is a warning sign of some sought, or just "lupus"
thanks all!

This is the fatigue that goes along with Lupus. You feel fine one moment then next thing you know it as though you have been working out for the past eight hours. Remember you can't over do it or else it will fight back even harder. When your bdy says rest that is just what it needs.

Thanks Fairchild! I always wish I could just lay down and relax, but I feel so GUILTY! I havent even had a job in the past few weeks, and I feel guilty as it is. I always feel as though I need to be doing something, otherwise i "think" people thing I am over reacting upon this lupus thing! I hate this!

That's part of the problem. Everyone wants to say they understand but they don't If you say you are tired too many times you fell like they are looking down at you. Even if that's not what they are thinking. Remember you are your worst critic. I know how you feel. I have made myself sick trying to keep up with everyone else. I can go on for weeks sometime months before I will just lose it and just sleep constantly every moment I get. Just rememeber to let your doctor know.

Yes, the fatigue gets on the way sometimes. Just remember that you have to take your time and do things. Like with me I want to do everything at once and I have found out that it is impossible. I hope you are not overdoing it. When I feel like that I have to do like you, lye down and get plenty of rest. Listen to your body.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
