Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.

Since my last post about struggling with many issues my pdoc has started me on lithium and it makes me feel like shit. Granted I am only on my fourth dose but I am hoping that my body adjusts to it and I won't feel like shit all the time. Still feeling empty but not rapid cycling as much . Are there a lot of people on this group taking it and maybe share with me your experience. Thanks Happy...

so much stuff happened this yr that so much of it is hard to deal with. I have decided to go forward in my life without my family . They are just not healthy for me . I am trying to only be with people who accept me for me and leave people who don't make me feel good. From my mom being so mean to me and telling me I was a fuck . Imagine that my very own mother who has lived in my home for the...
I am now on Rituxan and it has been helping for 4 months, but I think it might be wearing off now.
Best of luck to you.
I've been on it for 2 months now for lupus, not for any transplants. It's working really well- all my levels are back to normal except for my DSDNA but my rheum said some people always have high levels no matter what. I'm still on prednisone, but I've dropped from 15 mgs to 12.5 mgs and I'm going to drop again after I get back from a work trip.
My rheum said that for some of her patients, cellcept works as well as prednisone but without all the bad side effects (except you shouldn't get pregnant on it, it's known to cause birth defects). That seems to be the case for me so far, but everyone is different. Her goal is that I'll be able to go completely off prednisone and then after 3-6 months -if I'm stable- go off the cellcept too. Time will tell if my body behaves according to plan....
Like other people said, cellcept is SUPER EXPENSIVE and man those pills are big!!
good luck!
