Lupus Support Group
Lupus is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system cannot distinguish between threats (like viruses and bacteria), and healthy cells and tissue. As a result, the body produces antibodies that inflict cell damage, most commonly targeting joints, skin, kidneys and the nervous system. Join the group and find support for coping with lupus.

I had a chance to go to the beach on Saturday and so I went. I am currently on Methotrexate as my big medicine. I know that methotrexate can make you more sensitive to the sun, so I put on sunscreen except for the tops of my feet. Both feet ended up very burnt (lobster red) and they ended up swelling to more than twice their normal size. I can walk, but not flex my ankles. I am not sure if its from the meds, the sun, Lupus or something else. I probably should get myself in to see a doc, but..... any how anyone else have this sorta thing happen to them?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Please DO get in to see your doctor, as you just don't know what is going on and it is always better to catch things early. Hope you feel better soon...
((hugs))

there are also companies sponsored by skin cancer foundations that sell spf clothing and shoes if you are worried about sun protection too.
