Do not be ashamed if you smoked. Who! Cares! Decisions are decisions I started smoking at the age of 10 and smoked 4 -10 packs a day (and still smoke like this). I am 55 now. And have stage 4 and a very short time I am not sorry for what I did and I will not make any apologies to ANYONE. These were my decisions and I know the consequences of my decisions. Just as you have. So stop beating yourself up. Get a grip and get a life before it is gone. Again it is just plain silly for you to feel guilty? It was a DECISION!
