For nearly 10 yrs my diagnosis was primary idiopathic constipation. Switched docs about 2 yrs ago and she called my symptoms IBS, put me on Miralax and Zelnorm (Amitiza). Over the last 9 mo., my symptoms changed to gas, bloating. I noticed the amount of Miralax needed kept going down. Now, a new gastro also says IBS (did all the tests). Thing is, I feel like my intestinal pendulum may be swinging over to diarrhea soon. I've stopped the Miralax today because it's just too much. Lots more intestinal motility (grumblies in my (lower) tummy)than normal. I just hate to think that I'll have diarrhea for the next 10 yrs.! This is worse than the constipation because it's causing my blood sugar to drop too fast. Have no energy or stamina. Have to eat every 3 hrs. Putting on weight in the belly. What do you all think? Anybody experience this?
