Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.

Three weeks ago I had (sorry for the graphics) a large-like coke bottle sized- stool with lots of blood afterward. I was weak and passed out at least twice over the next two days. When I went tothe doctor he sent me for a colonoscopy. I had a "normal" ie no laxatives used, on Saturday and then did the prep on Sunday. I had my first BM since the procedure today, Saturday and their was blood in it. The GI doc said I had a small tear that would heal so I guess the blood is ok. But what is driving me nuts is the emotional crap. I felt fine until yesterday. Then I got all cranky with wild mood swings and general irritability. Plus, I have started my period two weeks early.
Is it possible that I am just toxic because of all that stool trapped in my body? I have been drinking Aloe Vera juice, taking Ex-Lax and eating right, ie small portions, light stuff and lots of water). But I still feel, well, like shit.
Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Was the tear something called a (not sure of spelling)a Fisher? My husband had one of those and had lots of bleeding. It flares up when he dosent have enough fiber in his diet.

HI Jade i had a tear recently which had me worried but it turned out not to be too serious. They suggested itake metamucil which is a fibre supplement and it helped a lot. They gave me a cream to sue but i found i didnt really need that once i was taking the fibre. Having more fibre helps the movement without having to strain so much.

I can count 4 times this year when I Went out of my way to make sure a "friend" felt good on their birthday, especially if they got left hanging. Its early in the...
