Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Support Group
Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.

I have been doing some research, and cross referencing my journal entries etc; and of course taking into consideration the opinions of my doctors and other people. It would seem that my IBS symptoms as well as my PMDD, hormonal imbalances, anxiety and depression; constant sick and achy feeling, foggy headed-ness lack of coordination etc, may be linked to Candida. I was looking at a whole series of symptoms that fall under the Candida category, and i seem to have a majority of them. Almost all save for a few severe ones such as loss of vision, extreme rashes (although i do have a rash, its just not severe) numbness i think. So i have decided to see my naturopath sooner rather than later to see if i can get on a cleanse for this yeast.
I also did an at home test: spitting in a glass of water fist thing in the morning--not too sure of the accuracy, but there was a whole bunch of white powder looking stuff at the bottom of my glass after i let it settle. My naturopath, my instructor, and now nutritionist all think or have thought my problem is totally Candida related. And it always seemed kind of suspicious to me that my symptoms arose shortly after being treated with some antibiotics. I've never had IBS-like symptoms before july when i started having them in droves. Not to mention my hormones went out the window at the same time as did major depression take it's place (only during a bout of symptoms or around my cycle.)
So in light of all this, i think i am going to give it a try. It certainly can't hurt!
Has anyone here tried the Candida cleanse?
Anything i should ask my naturopath?
Anything i should be aware of?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
if it is candida you will immediately feel better .
Well it was a long process, but I lost 20 lbs, got rid of the Candida, and learned about my realtionship with foods. A huge number of illnesses cleared up and I was able to get off of quite a few prescription meds.
Now when I have trouble with IBS its because I have been indulging in something I'm alergic to or I am under extreme stress (unfortunately the stress response never goes away except thru stress management).
I know Ultra Clear is still around, but it is a medical food and must be sold or prescribed by a doctor. They've modified the plan (it's not as extreme anymore), but there are many detox plans.
A final note for you is that when the toxins start to be removed you will feel like you have the flu, it only lasts a few hours to a day - but after you feel like you can fly! It's an awesome feeling to come out on the other side - I felt like a whole new, younger me! Good luck, I hope you find your answers...Jilly
Beware that when getting rid of it you can get a reaction from the dying extra yeasts that might make you feel sick for a couple of days until your body deals with it.
And i just want to make a note, ALWAYS question your doctors; never settle for their prognosis of what is wrong with you, always question them and question yourself. My naturopath also thinks that i have a liver problem, and my blood test results show that i have elevated liver enzymes. I am glad that i had the tenacity to question my sources, and come to more reliable answers. There is something wrong with me, i now recognize it and am going to undergo treatment for it. Not just medicating myself and lieing to my body.
I mean it's freaking bad...do you get dizzy too?
My wife has an oral candidasis (aka thrush) diagnosis from the family doctor. I was able to find a Traditional Chinese Medicine formula to treat this. It can be used both as an external wash or as an internal drink. It has 4 herbs Phellodendron cortex Huang Bai, Plantago seed Che Qian Zi , Sophora root Ku Shen, and Gentiana root Long Dan Cao. Put 9 grams of each into a pot with enough water for a couple of cups. Boil for 30 minutes. Strain out the herbs and drink the bitter tea one cup in the morning and one cup in the evening on an empty stomach. I can buy these herbs locally in Seattle for $1.50 per bag. It really works on candidasis.
