Irritable bowel syndrome is a common intestinal disorder that is characterized by bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramping, and constipation. Typically no abnormalities appear during standard medical testing, and so irritable bowel syndrome is identified by the symptoms. Although irritable bowel syndrome can cause serious discomfort, the intestines are not harmed.

I haven't done much reaseach on ibs but I do have it. My question is this. Does anyone know if it shows up on a mri or anything?

IBS is a diagnosis that really means, "I can't find a reason why this person has poor digestion.". Usually a diagnosis of IBS comes after all tests return a normal result.

I personally have had no tests what so ever. No scans or anything like that, ive only had the symptoms 3 months and my doctor diagnosed me with IBS when they didnt clear up. Im on 3 medications for it and im getting no relief, should i have been diagnosed with this condition without any tests before hand?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse.
