Interstitial Cystitis (IC) Support Group
Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is a urinary bladder disease of unknown cause characterised by pelvic and intense bladder pain, urinary frequency (as often as every 10 minutes), and pain with urination. It is not unusual for patients to experience nocturia and pain with sexual intercourse. IC is also known as painful bladder syndrome (PBS), particularly outside of the USA.

I am sooo miserable. I feel like I have to go severly badly ALL the time, even after i've just gone. Also I have these spasms(not painful) that make me feel like I'm going to leak. I've been taking elmiron now for about 2 months and haven't noticed any benefit(I know it can take a long time). Have to go back to my urologist in a couple of wks and he will probably send me to a dr that does "interstim", advise PLEASE!! It is very expensive, and then what if it doesn't work? Does anyone out there have an interstim??

have not heard of that, and yes, Elmiron is expensive and takes a long time to work. Has he diagnose you yet with IC? I was diagnose by doing a hyperdistention of the bladder. They put you under anestesia and blow up your bladder and run dyes thru it and then release them. It's painful for a day or two after, but it got rid of my pain for many months. I'm also on Amitryptiline which coats the bladder lining... see if you can start taking that...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
