Hello one and all ,
I am so glad to be apart of this community. I thought I would share a little about myself. I am finishing up my degree in education. However, due to a chronic illness I have (fibromyalgia), I am having to put that on hold for a little bit. It is common for fibro patients to have sleep disorders. The most common of course is sleep apnea. However, I am not so sure that I have that. Although I havne't had a sleep test done. I want to get one as soon as I can once I can get on medicaid. Anyway, I can't work either. Fibro has taken over my life in so many ways. However, this is where mine is different form most. I suffer from insomnia. I can't fall asleep till i am in so much pain and my body mind and heart are completely exhausted. I may get 4 hours of sleep all together however I wake up nearly every 30 minutes and it takes me about an hour to fall asleep again. After about a week or so of that, my body finally shuts down and for a whole day I can't do anything but sleep. I have tried so many methods. For instance, sleeping pills, listening to quiet music, hot baths, warm milk, staying up as much as I can till I fall asleep (at least 24 hours) in order to reset my bio clock, light exercise, reading, writing, massages, and countless more. I jsut can't remember them all. Anyway none of them worked. And for more of them I did repeatedly for a good while to give it time to work and nada. I have even done most of them several times through different cycles in my life to see if this time it will work..NOTHING. So here it is 12a and I am wide awake. And I usually am playing computer games, websurfing, or listening to music. Nothing seems to help. I am not sure what to do. But since I am not able to get enough sleep to rest, to heal, to rejuvinate, my fibro becomes worse. Sighs, it seems like a never ending cycle. Maybe I am crazy. Something has to give. And in the end it doesn't look like it is gonna come easily. Any suggestions or comments you guys would like to share I would love to hear it.

wow sounds like me a couple years ago, my mom has fibromyalgia, ive never gone too see if i have but im sure i do! I cant sleep either , just doesnt matter what i did i could not sleep for more then an hour an night If u can even call that sleep! I used to stay up as long as i could just so my body would shut itself down, but that soon lead to experimenting with drugs. Just like all drugs ive used and been perscribed ur body builds a tolerance to the drug needing more and more! Not to make the situation seem bleak but ive been druged up, F!$Ked up and diagnosed with everything from depression to scizo, i guess my advice would be to weary of drugz sometimes getting good sleep is as easy as changing ur habbits:) good lucky to u and ur ZZZZ!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
