I have a very hard time falling asleep and staying asleep after I've waken up. I started out on ambien, which works very well with helping me fall asleep, but I found that I only slept 5 hours or so before waking up and not being able to fall back asleep. So then I went on ambien CR which works amazingly. It makes me fall asleep AND stay asleep. The only problem is that I'm REALLY tired all day and it may be from the ambien staying in my system. I also don't want to get addicted and have to rely on it. Does anyone know something else that helps? Or perhaps a good natural supplement that can work as well as ambien? I'm lost here.

melatonin, passionflower, and valerian are all natural supplements that are supposed to help with sleep. I have tried all 3 and have found they only work for a few days and then stop...could be just me though. There is also something new I have tried, although I don't know if its available everywhere....sleep MD, it's the only thing besides zopiclone/immovane that works for me.

Ooh! Same here! I've tried natural supplements but after awhile they didn't work anymore. I also got Sleep MD and it's working really well. I hesitated in getting it because I was afraid of getting addicted to it, but that doesn't seem to be the case for some reason. It's as if it "resets" your body clock. Then the next night you feel sleepy and tired at the same time as last night when you took the pill; so you don't need to take it that night. Does that make sense? But just make sure if you do try it out that you give yourself 8 hours of sleep. I've found that when I have to wake up after 5 or 6 hours of sleep on Sleep MD that I feel tired and groggy all day. Sorry for the ramble..hope this helps..

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
