why did i get married....

last weekend my husband and i left our son with my grandmother/grandfather and we went on a date to see the tyler perry movie "why did i get married." in the movie one of the guys (malik yoba) spoke of an 80/20 rule. he said that in marriage you will only get 80% of what you need, no more no less. some woman/man comes along offering the other 20% and your spouse leaves your 80% for 20%. just wondering what you guys think of this, do you agree.

my husband said he never thought of leaving but i know that the woman he was sleeping with was (in my opinion) way less than 20%, i think thats what turned him on because he knew what she was good for and that he would never have to commit to her.

anyway just wanted to know what you think.

I saw it two weeks ago and I agree with the 80 20 rule. Mine is with his 20 now. I say good for him, Because this 80 is gone. He too has a relationship with a person that he can leave or take but it is what it is someone to have sex with and someone he says that he loves, I no longer speak to him because why....the movie was wonderful and I love it. Have you seen diary of a mad black woman...I love it, I have seen it at least 14 times and cried almost every time...when I went to see why I got married..it was a group of women different ages and so forth, strangers, we all cried together, laughed together, and clapped when she hit him in the head with the wine bottle. You might also enjoy the movie I think I love my wife.. with Chris Rock .. it had me crying too. the bottom line it's all about choices, where to we want to be and what do we want to do with our bodies and our lives.... I gave, he took and then thought he could do better, now his job is to hurt me, every chance he gets...lol

i have "diary" on dvd and what is funny is that i saw it several times before i learned of his affair but one night i just happened to decide to watch it and this is when i was at my lowest. i never realized how much my situation was related. the other woman, the kids. the only difference was that my husband was begging me to stay, he never planned on leaving. also i have the soundtrack to the movie and have heard the song that they sing at the end when charles walks for the first time, but hearing it after i found out, i was on my knees crying uncontrollably. needless to say, i have not watched it since.

i will have to check out the chris rock movie. thanks for the "headsup."

i wish you the best, i hate that this has happened to you, i know that there is a man out there who wants nothing more than to love YOU. i hope you find each other soon. -jae

Hmmmmm... I feel that the theory is correct, but unsure about the measures. 20 can seem like a lot some days to assign to that person. But then again, maybe it is about perception... you would think that some people would see the 80 and realize that it is a pretty high number, why risk that for a 20?

Its funny how the 20 turns into 0 when they are caught, the 20 or 0 who they risked everything for has never meant anything- SO WHY F***ING RISK IT THEN ARSEHOLES

    theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

    I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
