I find it extremely difficult to be a "friend" with someone that disrespects me that much. I have few people that I consider "true" friends ... and not a single one of them would do something to hurt me. Unfortunately, I never considered my ex a "true" friend ... and she proved it by her actions.

I would find it hard to be friends still with the cheating ex. Especially if they consistently bring up the other "friend" all the time. I was going to try, but she didnt know I knew she had cheated at that time. But then she continued to avoid me so it was easier to not be friends or hear about it anymore.

If you can do it, more power to you, but I dont know if I could.

I think in this case you have answered your own question. If he is desrespectful and makes you uncomfortable then you know what you have to do.

i dont consider you an actualy friend unless i trust you... given the fact that he did what he did, that's just not goin to work and hes currently having a very difficult time accepting that but i just can't bring myself to do it.

Continuing to be friends with the cheater is always up to the individal person, but I personally do not see a lot of good in it.

Real, true friends would not betray you in such a way. So why would you want to be friends with somebody that already did?

If you were cheated on, then that person does not deserve you. You are continuing to give yourself to this person, this person still gets a part of you. This is what this person wants and you are giving him the power here.

If he is still being disrespectful to you, then it is not a friendhsip. He is still pulling your strings for his own selfish purposes.

I defind friendship as a person who is willing to be there for you when you need them to be, who has your best interest at heart, and you the same for them.

that being said you know that this person cheated on you, treated you like crap, lied to you. so tell me what makes you think they would be a good friend?

Respect is everything. If you two dont have it for eachother as a couple, how could you as friends?? Why would you want to stay friends with someone who burned you so bad??

my thoughts exactly...so i have decided to terminate the friendship...slowly but surely...its amazing how strong strong i have gotten over just being out of this relationship with for over a week...cuz at first i thought that i couldnt make it withot being in a romantic relationship with this person...but i got over that real quickly and then i thought that same about this friendship...but i have also gotten over that...very quickly..so its def. a healing process but im starting to let go...and like many have said ..i realize what this person has done to me while we were dating and to see what this person might try to do in a friendship...its not worth it..and its dumb
