Ladies, Some of you may know that only 14 states mandate infertility coverage. I found this link to RESOLVE (the national infertility assoc) http://www.resolve.org/site/PageServer?pagename=ta_ic_fedleg
You can write your legislator and ask for your state to mandate insurance companies to cover fertility treatments. If everyone on this site writes to their state Reps, it may make a difference.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Dear Mrs. :
Thank you for expressing your views on health insurance coverage of infertility treatments.
For many people who want to start a family, the dream of having a child is not easily fulfilledabout 10% of Americans of reproductive age, over six million people, are affected by infertility. Many have turned to assisted reproductive technology, which has been used in the U.S. since 1981 to help couples achieve pregnancy. Such treatments are costly, and many health plans do not cover them.
H.R. 735, the Family Building Act, was introduced last Congress by Representative Weiner. This bill, which has not been reintroduced this year in either the House or the Senate, would have required health plans to provide benefits for treatment of infertility.
As a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, I will continue to press for reforms to our health care system that will expand and improve health care services for all Americans. Should the Senate consider legislation related to infertility treatments, you can be sure I will keep your views in mind.
Thanks again for contacting me.
Sincerely,
Sherrod Brown
