We went to dinner with my BIL and he invited a couple he knows. Well, she was 7 months pregnant. I didn't even know anyone else was joining us. This woman of course didn't know about our troubles, but my BIL and his girlfriend did. Does it really NEVER occur to them? I was very clear about how hard this has been on us and how depressed we both have been over it. The woman was nice and the dinner was basically fine until they started talking about the details. Especially when they were talking about all the tests and risks of having a baby after 35. I didn't need to hear this. I'm 35 now and if we could have had our first baby when we planned, this wouldn't even be an issue. I really started getting upset and I was just about to excuse myself from the table when it broke up. I just don't know what they were thinking. Can't people ever see past themselves? Do people have to actually experience the exact same thing just to have some speck of sensitivity?
