but I really wanted to share!
So, I have two cats. My female is almost 13 yrs old and has been my rock through some of the most difficult, devastating points in my life. She is a normal looking cat, except for the flab of skin under her belly from the chain of breast cancer they removed last year.
My male cat turned 3 yrs this past August. He is 23lbs and I call him my "little black bear" I don't think he realizes he is a cat b/c he acts like a dog most the time.
Well, we moved last month and now have a pantry. In that pantry are the bags of kitty nip I sprinkle on their cat scratchers that are kept in the living room. On THREE separate occasions we came home from work or got up in the morning to find he had gotten a bag of kitty nip off the shelf in the pantry, carried it through the kitchen, through the dining room, into the living room and tore the bag apart right on the cat scratcher I sprinkle it on! What a nut!
Then yesterday I come home and trip over a fortune cookie. I knew he must of been in the pantry again so I walked in the kitchen and found an opened fortune cookie wrapper, a fortune, but NO cookie!! That little smart theif opened the bag and ate the cookie but left to fortune for me!!
The reason I wanted to share that is because they were both just looking at me with so much love and it made me think how much I love them and how gratful I am God blessed my life with them as I know he will with a child.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I have a male cat that is about 6 1/2 years old now, he weighs 22 lbs and is solid black. Sounds a lot like yours. My kitty also acts like a dog. Not many cats are as big as he is. My cat loves to play fetch. Also, if I am laying in my bed watching tv, he will come lay right up against me, with his back pressed against my chest and cry until I put my arm around him. My hubby says it is a sad day when you have to spoon your cat. I think he is just jealous that I am spooning with the cat :)
The young one - we got him at 4 months old. He's a little over two now. And wierd as this sounds - a big furry, wet hug (he plays in water - ANY water - ANY time he can find it) from my 20 pound fur-baby will make my day like just about nothing else.
They don't make not having children yet any easier, necessarily... and yet... at the very least, they can provide much needed comfort, and when the ache for a small body to hold is so strong, they're a poor substitute - but a poor one is better than none, in my opinion. :)
I'm glad you've got your furbabies! God DOES bless us - so richly. :)
My big boy has gotten into a bag of catnip or two in his day.
I am sure this is TMI, but last night while BD the big boy decided he wanted some attention himself and jumped right up onto my head. Between being smothered by his girth and laughing I could not hoist him off myself. Maybe he was just offering his blessing to a baby?
BTW, what was the fortune?
This morning I pulled out the one from my cat. It read: "You will inherit some money or a small piece of land." Yes, I ran out and played the lottery ;-)
I love fostering kittens. Baby kitties to cuddle and then give back when they start to get obnoxious!
