Does anyone know if this proceedure hurts? I have to get one next week and am wondering what it will be like. I had an HSG and that was very uncomfortable.

I had a sonohystogram last week and it did not hurt. It was a little uncomfortable and you will (might) cramp while they are doing it, but it does not hurt.

What is that exactly? Apparently I have fibroids (never have been there before)and the nurse mentioned getting one after our last IVF...of course I never did.

Are you talking about an Hsg? Not to scare you(eveyone is different), but...Yes, I had one....It hurt like hell! I feel I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but this test got me. Make sure you take whatever the dr lets you for the discomfort. I went in thinking that this test couldn't be that bad...but during the procedure I had to get the tech to hold my hand and let me squeeze it while I screamed. Hope it goes well for you.

If your tubes are open and your cervix is easy to pass a catheter through, it shouldn't be too bad. However, there's no guarantee. Take 3 advil (ibuprofen) about an hour and a half before your appointment. This will help with the cramping. It may be pretty uncomfortable, but the discomfort is temporary.

I had one and it was a bit uncomfortable. It felt like really bad AF cramps. I cramped a bit for a day or so but after that I was fine. Do take some kind of anti-inflammatory (Advil) before you go and try to relax.

Make sure you take something beforehand and have someone there to drive you. It only last for a few seconds but it was a pretty painful few seconds. I was fine afterwards.

Thanks everyone. A sonohystogram is a little different than an HSG. HSG is where they insert a catheter and inject you with dye through your tubes. I think that they are just checking my uterine lining with the sono before we do the FET next month.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
