Hi Everyone,
I have been dealing with this infertility stuff for a year and a half now with my GYN. They have found nothing wrong, in fact I have been told everything as far as lab work for me and my husband it really good. I also had a HSG which came back normal.
So, my husband and I went for our first RE visit last Weds. The doctor wanted me to go straight to IUI with clomid which I just am not ready for and am not sure that I want to do. So I asked if I could do Clomid without the IUI and see what happens he said yes but they have to do ultrsound monitoring throughout the month.
We just found out that our insurance doesn't cover ANYTHING. And the ultrasound is going to be $425 for the first one and then $225 for the follow ups.
I just got my period this morning and would have to start this on Thursday. I feel rushed and am not totally understanding the need for all of this. This is going to be alot of money and I don't really get why they need to do the ultrasound if everything else is normal. Also, what good is the Clomid if I am already ovulating regularly every month?
On top of this, the office was closed today so I couldn't ask them these questions and I have a huge meeting at work tomorrow so I probably won't have time to discuss it with them tomorrow.
Am I wasting more time waiting a month to get started with this?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I am not sure about the IUI and ultra sound. I did a double IUI one month with Clomid but they did not do ultra sounds. The Clomid can also help produce more eggs that are better quality. I think they like to monitor to see how many follicles you have and make sure they are not doing an IUI cycle with too many follicles. Then you could have multiple births.
I am sure some of the women who have used Clomid more and done more IUI's can give you more information.
But it is a lot of money and you need to be sure you are ready before you do it. One month will go by very quickly and I am sure you would feel better about the whole process. Good luck!
