I was curious if accupunture hurts. Can you feel it at all? I was thinking about considering do it if DH and I have another IUI. And I was really considering it if we have to move to IVF. I have a horrible fear of needles. (That's fun with all the infer. stuff.) So, I was wondering if you feel it and if it hurts at all. Can you feel those needles going in. Where do they put them. If I don't have to look at them.. I might be okay. Just curious.

HI, you can feel it but its not like a shot, just a little tiny pinch for a second. I was afraid too at first, not having any idea what to expect. This is my first IVF and I am doing acupuncture, hopefully it helps! Good luck to you

The needles are so thin they bend. I don't have a fear of needles, but it really doesn't "hurt." You feel something, not necessarily pain. I have been going for 3 months- it's so relaxing. As a matter of fact I went yesterday and I had a weird cramp in my back and a headache... as soon as I got home from my treatment, I felt GREAT- I really believe there is something to it!! Good Luck!

My first treatment session, I cringed every time she put in a needle and I didn't like it at all. But I forced myself to go back and give it a second try - and the second time, I actually fell asleep as she put in the needles (granted it had been an extremely stressful week and I was very sleep deprived). I feel a little pinch as she places some of the needles, but it quickly fades (every once in awhile, it's a little more of a twinge), but it is very relaxing and I usually end up dozing off while I'm laying there after all the needles are placed. I have been going for about 2 1/2 months now - and I do think it is helping. I will have 3 1/2 months in before we'll be doing IVF next month (my acupuncturist recommends at least 3 months). Good luck!

Oh, I forgot to respond to your question about where they place them. Everyone is different I'm sure, depending on the nature of your problems. I lay on my back and she places them in lots of different places - my head, my arms, my fingers, across my abdomen, down my leg, in my feet, between toes. I keep my eyes closed the whole time! I don't really want to look either!

I agree with everyone else it really doesn't hurt at all. I had needles in my head, abdomen, legs, feet, arms and in my back. Good Luck!!

I did acupuncture this IVF trial for 4 months. They access your pulse lines to determine where to put the needles, my first fertility session the therapist only put one just under my belly-button, my last session she had 5 there then shared my pulses were balanced and she wished me luck in retrieval and transfer. She won't do acupuncture after transfer. She like to put one in my head, a couple in each arm (the one at the wrist hurt), and one in each leg, then one in one of my feet (the one on the foot always hurt). Once in the lights were turned down low and instrumental music was turned on. Sometimes I would nap, most just veg.

I agree with the ladies, it does not hurt much. I too have a great fear of needles, but it just pinches a bit. The only place I really don't like them is in my feet. As far as where, it really depends on your profile. Before ER I am on my back for the first half and then on my front for the second half. After ER,ET or IUI all sessions are done on my front. My acupuncturist uses this electronic device to further stimulate certain areas. It is quite relaxing

I love acupuncture. I have been going once a week for about 4 months now. It is very relaxing and I can't feel the needles and I have even been brave enough to look at them.

I have doing accupunture for 2 months now and love it. The sensation is less of a pricking feeling and more pressure. I find it very relaxing. The needles are usually placed in my hands, feet, ankles, and in my lower abdomen. Good luck.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
